Estonia is a fairly variable climate with distinct seasons. The days are short in winter with around 6 hours of daylight. January and February are the coldest months, with the average maximum temperature at just -4ºC.  However summer days are long with the sun appearing for 19 hours.

 

July is the warmest month with an average maximum of 20ºC Around the summer solstice Tallinn experiences what are known as white nights, were it never really gets totally dark. Summer weather is variable, and a sunny morning can quickly change into a rainy afternoon. You should prepare for all sorts of weather in Tallinn.
